Gatundu MP Moses Kuria poses next to the late IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando’s car on the eve of his disappearance in 2017
Where is Gatundu Member of Parliament Moses Kuria? That’s the question currently doing rounds on social media after reports emerged the outspoken “Tanga Tanga” legislator is apparently missing.
This is according to posts which circulated on Friday night, claiming the family of the William Ruto-allied Kikuyu politician had let out the information that his whereabouts are unknown, expressing fears that he might be kidnapped.
Though unconfirmed, the rumours have definitely sparked reactions, with the ever speculative Kenyans crafting all sorts of ideas as to where he might be.
One of the narratives suggests that Kuria has been apprehended over a post he made commentating on the forced evictions witnessed in Kariobangi North earlier this week.
Taking to his social media pages on Thursday, Kuria said he acknowledged that the move is aimed at paving way for an ‘ultra-modern’ city project but could have been done at a later date considering what the country is currently going through.
“I understand that the Kariobangi Sewage evictions are meant to clear the land to set up sewage disposal for an ambitious forthcoming Ultra-Modern City project. But for crying out loud it’s not that the Ultra-Modern City project is being built tomorrow.
How does one reconcile their conscience to see women and children evicted when they are suffering from lack of money, acute food shortage, unforgiving rains and battling with Corona Virus?” asked Kuria.
Adding: “How does it benefit you to own the whole world and lose your soul? You will burn in hell!”
Some even attempted to link his alleged disappearance to the current nationwide blackout, arguing that the two events are too odd to be just a coincidence.
Joining in to share his views, self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM Kenya) leader Miguna Miguna pointed out that although Kuria cheered on as he was abducted, tortured, sedated and forced into exile, he still has rights like everyone else.
As of the publishing of this post, there was no official communication from the MP nor any of his representatives in regards to the circulating reports.
Meanwhile, his name continues to top the list of the trending topics in the country.
