Speaking during an interdominal service held in Kabarak on Sunday, Eunice said she did not think anyone would ever fit in Mzee’s shoes since he played a huge role in their lives.
Eunice relived the last time she saw Moi two weeks ago in hospital and she could not bear the pain of seeing him shed tears as they greeted him.
Moi, she said, struggled to open his mouth to say something but could not due to his condition.
Together with her husband, they prayed and Mzee could not close his eyes. Her husband held Mzee Moi’s hand as they bid goodbye but he could not let go.
Susan, on the other hand, thanked the congregation for having joined them and also wiping their tears.
She said Mzee was everything to the family further describing Mzee Moi as a father, grandfather, leader and protector.
Preparations are on top gear at the home of the late Former President Daniel Arap Moi and several churches have converged to pray with the family.
He died on Tuesday, February 4, and he will be buried on Wednesday, February 12.
