Kenya’s highly respected musician, Eric Wainaina, has returned after a bit of downtime with a song that pulls no punches.
The Nchi ya Kitu Kidogo singer delivered a song that focused on embattled Nairobi Governor Sonko and other politicians’ ills.
Playing with the piano, he urged politicians from the ruling party Jubilee to clean up Kenyan jails and make them conducive as they were bound to end up in them eventually.
He conveyed the same message to Sonko and went on to criticize the governor for slapping an officer while resisting arrest on Friday, November 6, over corruption charges.
He emphasized that it was only fair for the governor to serve his term in jail and pay for the crimes he had committed.
To Sonko’s supporters, the song seems to have skewered just about them and everything at some point or another.
