Some landlords are taking advantage of the coronavirus pandemic and offering an exchange of sex for rent to their tenants who might be struggling to pay rent as most countries across the world are on lockdown.
According to reports, cases of landlords reported to have offered sex in lieu of rent have increased. While the number of cases isn’t necessarily astronomical notable cases have gone “vastly underreported.”
The COVID-19 pandemic does not seem to end soon and many tenants especially those with females only might be tempted and fall for the sex for rent scam from dodgy landlords as the economic impact of the virus is leaving people with no rent money or basic foodstuffs.

The Ministry of Health yesterday reported that eight people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in Kenya to 270.
The cases were confirmed after 1,330 samples were tested. The country has also reported two more deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 14.
