It is fair to say ODM leader Raila Odinga has been away from the public sphere after the confirmation of the first coronavirus case in Kenya.
Questions have been raised over Odinga’s whereabouts but in a photo seen by Uhondo News on Friday, March 20, he seems to be having a good time at the sandy beaches of Mombasa.
In the photo, BABA is seen posing with Dabaso Ward by-election ODM candidate Dickson Karani & Mombasa deputy governor Hon. William Kingi at his Nyali home looking healthy.
Odinga’s personal assistant Dennis Onyango who spoke to a local media house said that the AU envoy is was in the safety of his residence, from where he was executing his mandate as the leader of the ODM party, and his responsibility to Kenyans.
“He is operating indoors and online. His Capitol Hill offices have been closed to control human traffic to the place,” Onyango informed, further stating that Raila was in support of the country’s measures in the fight against the Coronavirus.
The ODM leader on Friday, March 13, issued a statement, urging Kenyans to cooperate with the government after confirmation of the first coronavirus case in Kenya.
Raila stated that the government had factual and science-based advice on how the country must proceed, urging Kenyans not to panic.
