A police officer was yesterday arrested after he and his two colleagues robbed an M-Pesa agent Ksh 82,000 in Nyalenda.
The three officers, attached to Kondele Police Station, raided an M-Pesa shop claiming to have been looking for bhang that they were told was hidden in the shop.
The three cops then robbed the agent of his money and thereafter handcuffed a security guard manning the building where the M-Pesa shop is located.
According to the Police, the three cops also robbed the security guard Ksh 6,000, a phone and took award his security weapon.
One of the police officers was identified as Constable Sajini, and has refused to name his two accomplices.
The incident comes a week after two police officers were arrested in Kisumu after assaulting a petrol station attendant and demanding free fuel.
It seems the officers who are supposed to be protecting citizens are turning into wolves in sheep’s clothing. That’s why most of us don’t trust police officers at all, even though their slogan is “UTUMISHI KWA WOTE”
If they can do this, what will prevent them from arresting you and claim they found you in possession of stolen property or even drugs?
