Popular gospel musician Peterson Ngetha who is popularly known as Pitson has opened up about how fame and money had turned him into a spendthrift and unfaithful husband.
In a interview with Robert Bulale on Switch TV, Pitson said that he wished he would have spolied his wife with the money he was making at the time, instead of sponsoring the lives of his side chicks.
He narrated how his wife had found out about is extra marital affairs on two occassions and left him both times, prompting intervention from their parents.
The escapades happened after getting a good job at a bank and then he dropped his most successful song Lingala ya Yesu.
“We are doing so well, we get married, I get a job in the bank then lingala also happens. Many artists will tell you there was a time when there was money in the gospel industry, a lot of money. It was untaxed because other than Skiza which was taxed, the money we were paid on shows was not taxed,” Pitson recalled.
The musician said that he did not have may responsibility at the time so a lot of his earning went to pleasing girls.
“With that money I paid rent for so many ladies, I became a sponsor,” he confessed adding that the women would thank him in more than one way.
He narrated that his wife found out about his escapades and further raised questions about the money he was bringing home versus what he made during the shows.
Pitson said that all the women he had affairs with were ‘born again’ and the whole time he did not introduce himself to alcohol.
“My wife left once so the embarrassing moment of my parents going to her house to talk to her parents and promising that our son this son of the bishop will behave this time please bring your woman the the your your daughter back…it was not a good experience,” Pitson said.
After his wife returned to their matrimonial home, the musician became wiser in hiding his affairs until she found out the second time and left again.
Pitson said that at one point his wife thought about leaving him for good;
“We had already agreed about a divorce and concluded that the relationship was not working, you go your way and I’ll go my way, and then you know the call happened and I went back to her and I said you know, I want you to be my friend and I’m sorry of because of all the things i’ve done. She said she was sorry because of all the things she had done also and we lived. We’re not perfect, I’m not perfect.”
