Police in Kiambu have mounted a manhunt for Githunguri MP Gabriel Kago Mukuha who has gone into hiding after a domestic scuffle that left his wife Emily Wanjiku Gitiha nursing serious head and body injuries.
A credible source at Kiambu Police Station revealed that Emily reported the matter on Saturday 27th bearing injuries on the head and neck which she claimed were inflicted by her husband.
This is the third time the MP has been reported to police for causing bodily harm to his wife. On 26th September 2018 the lawmaker is said to have attacked and brutally injured his wife at their home in Loswan Estate, Kiambu Road.
In the previous attack, the lawmaker is said to have been angered when his wife – who is a medical practitioner, asked him how it was possible she had been treated for an STI three times in under a year despite remaining faithful to him.
In May this year, Kago Wa Lydia had attacked his wife again during a NG-CDF conference in Mombasa in presence of Githunguri CDF Chairman Joseph Kabari who rescued her and reported the matter at Makupa Police Station, Mombasa.
This was after yet another incidence on the 15th March 2019 at Loswan Estate where neighbors came to her rescue. Sources close to Kiambu Police Station have further revealed that the MP shall be charged with assault. Last year, he is said to have used Rachel Shebesh to dissuade DPP from charging him.
