ODM candidate Omar Boga campaign to become the MP in the Msambweni by-election today received a major boost after President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed that he would support him.
Speaking after a meeting Boga alongside Governor Joho who serves as ODM’s deputy party leader, the President reaffirmed Jubilee party’s unequivocal support for his candidature.
Recent surveys pointed out that the candidate could be on his path to victory in the December 15 by-election ahead of his closest competitor Feisal Bader; with others like Ali Hassan Mwakulonda, Marere Mwachai trailing.
President Uhuru’s announcement is expected to widen the rift between the party as Feisal Bader is said to have Deputy President William Ruto’s blessing.
The Msambweni seat fell vacant in March after the area MP the late Suleiman Dori succumbed to cancer.
