Trans Nzoia county youth leader Alex Matere has been the subject of social media discussion after he outrightly attacked Deputy President William Ruto during the launch of BBI report on Monday at Bomas.
Matere who spoke at the event on behalf of the Kenyan youth claimed that this was not the time for politicians to issue 16th century tools to solve the 21st Century problems. These sentiments were viewed as a direct attack to DP Ruto who has been distributing wheelbarrows and handcarts.
The former University of Nairobi student leader choice of words pulled up some mixed reactions. As always netizens who are pro-BBI backed him up while Ruto’s fanbase couldn’t take in his message.

‘The youth of this country have been sidelined for too long. There is a saying that if you’re not on the table then you are on the menu, the youth of this country have been on the menu for too long, BBI is bringing us on the table,’ said the youth leader.

I want it to be know on record that Alex Matere doesn't speak for me as a youth and his views are his own and for the masters that he serves. I distance myself from such views. 🙄 #BBILaunch

When young men like Alex Matere get the guts to lecture the deputy president at the #BBILaunch then you get to know what kind of disrespectful country we live in.

Alex Matere, the boy who attempted some jibes at the Deputy President.
He comes from Tranzoia but is a common face at Capitol Hill.
He is also a regular visitor at Junet Mohammed Offices.
Now you know the people he wanted to please.

The boy has single handedly deconstructed Ruto's deceptive and Neanderthal style of politics..
We have no time for the Wheelbarrow discourse if we're to achieve progress as a Nation..
