Mama Lucy Hospital’s nurses allegedly rejected two victims who succumbed to their injuries
Following online uproar over a video that went viral showing a pregnant mother who was forced to deliver outside Pumwani Maternity Hospital after being barred by guards, another hospital has been put on the spotlight.
It is reported that on Thursday, September 17 2020, nurses at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital rejected two victims Joseph Maingi and Dennis Nyabuto, both 23-year-olds, after a stabbing incident .The nurses on duty allegedly informed them that they were not admitting patients because of a go-slow. They declined to offer them first -aid
The two, who sustained stomach, thigh, and chest injuries, later died after they were taken to Metropolitan Hospital. One was announced dead on arrival while the other succumbed to his injuries later, but on the same night.
The family of one of the victims faulted Mama Lucy Hospital for not showing mercy to their son, Dennis, by offering him first-aid.
According to witnesses, the two suspects had been denied entry to the lifts leading to the Leijona lifestyle centre building gym and rooftop.
The building’s management had discovered the two suspects idling in the unfinished hotel and had made a habit of going to the roof and taking aerial shots of NASRA estate which seemed suspicious.
Some of the neighbours who were interviewed bya local tabloid claimed that the suspects had also stabbed and killed another person in Mandera County but sought refuge in Nairobi.
