Lipa Deni ! Daddy Owen Sued By “Ghost writer ” Over For Sh 2 Million In Unpaid Royalties : Report
It’s never too late to try and recoup your royalties, is it? Apparently not if you’re songwriter Reagan Sarkozy popularly known as Mwana wa Nzambe who yesterday came out and revealed that he wrote and arranged gospel singer Daddy Owen’s Wewe Ni Mungu and Okokroko songs but was neither accorded any rights nor paid for his services.
In documents seen by Uhondo News, the Congolese songwriter is now suing Daddy Owen for Ksh 2 million in damages for unpaid royalties and honoring their agreements.
Reagan Sarkozy also claims that Daddy Owen engaged his RB band to play for him at Koroga Festival in 2014/2015 but never saw a dime.

The writer also claims to have written Owen’s Vanity song which the singer gave gospel star Pitson credit for.
A source close to Daddy Owen says, “Unfortunately this is a groundless lawsuit by someone Daddy Owen had helped get off the streets, lent a helping hand to, and now thinks he’s an easy target to mark looking for money.”
It seems that the Mbona hitmaker may be learning a harsh lesson in what it means when you don’t pay your employees.
We’ll continue to keep you posted moving forward.
