Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has dismissed claims made by former Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh that he paid her close to Ksh 30 million as compensation after he slapped her in 2013.
In a radio interview, Hon. Shebesh claimed that she had reached an out-of-court settlement with former Governor Kidero in the case where she accused him of assault.
“Kidero paid me a lot of money, he will not repeat what he did. He paid me close to Ksh 30 million,” Shebesh said.
In a wide-ranging interview with a local daily, Kidero hinted that Shebesh had mental issues and her words should be taken with a pinch of salt.
“We all know Shebesh is not okay. She is sick and some of her claims should not be taken seriously,” Kidero told The Nairobian.
The former Nairobi Governor went on to reveal that he sunk Ksh 423 million into the Nairobi Gubernatorial election which he ended up losing to Mike Sonko.
He has shifted his political base to Homa Bay where he is expected to vie for the governor’s seat in 2022.
Other politicians interested in the seat including ODM supremo John Mbadi and Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.
