Glenn Chibasellow, a notorious Kenyan drug smuggler was arrested on Wednesday at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok while trying to smuggle cocaine into the country.
The 43-year-old Kenyan man was arrested alongside a Nigerian national who is alleged to have hired him to aid him in transporting drugs to Thailand and other Asian countries.
The Kenyan man was arrested after drugs authorities in Thailand discovered that he had swallowed 68 capsules of cocaine, which in total weighed about 1.2 kilogrammes.
According to an official from Thailand’s Office of Narcotics Control Board, the Kenyan together with his accomplice were part of a major drug trafficking network in the country.
The official further revealed that since last year, 43 people had been arrested over drug smuggling allegations. 7 of the suspects were arrested while trying to smuggle drugs into the country while the other 38 people were arrested while smuggling drugs out of the country.
