Prophet Owuor is arguably the most controversial religious leader in Kenya. He’s also the one with the most followers and there are claims he has resurrected a few people from the dead.
Whether that’s true or false is of little concern to some people, especially those who don’t believe Dr. Owour is a true prophet.
A little while back Dr. Owuor claimed he went to heaven and even got to anoint the seat of the Messiah, something that not only shocked Kenyans but left them talking for days and weeks. Here is a quote from the prophet.
“The Lord Jehovah, the tremendous God of heaven lifted me into heaven and took me to His throne. While I was there, there was tremendous glory.
“A lot of glory. Then the Lamb came. The Messiah came then God the Father extended a bottle of olive to my right hand. Then I went down on my knees and I anointed the seat of the Messiah.”
You read it right. Prophet Dr. Owuor anointed the seat of the Messiah!!!
Whether that’s true or else is there for all of us to chew on it and choose what to believe and what not to believe. However, some things his followers do makes Kenyans have more questions than answers.
Sometimes when Dr. Owuor is going for crusades his church members will even sweep and wash the roads in readiness for his triumphant arrival. I really don’t understand why you have to wash tarmac roads for a servant of God.
Nonetheless, there are claims by some of his church members that the prophet has healed patients with HIV/AIDS and leprosy among other deadly diseases. They say those who doubt the genuineness of the prophet are haters.
“But because of hate, some people come up with fabricated stories that people have been paid to act,” one of them is heard saying.
But according to Rev Loice Okello who is a counselling psychologist, what Dr. Owuor followers are doing is called religious fanaticism.
“It is because the person comes and styles themselves as one who answers a specific need in society, which makes them be looked at as a Messiah of sorts,” says Rev Okello.
Well, I will leave it there for you to chew and decide for yourself; did Prophet Dr. Owuor really go to heaven to anoint the seat of Messiah?
