Canadian musician Avril Lavigne unveiled a new promo art for her next single “I Fell In Love With the Devil” and some of her fans are not pleased at all.
Most of her Christian followers who took their time to comment were critical of the darkly themed imagery.
I Fell In Love With the Devil is the 4th single from her new album Head Above Water that was released last month. A section of the lyrics goes this way;
I fell in love with the devil
And now I’m in trouble
I fell in love with the devil
I’m underneath his spell (ah)
Someone send me an angel
To lend me a halo
I fell in love with the devil
Please, save me from this hell (Oh-oh-oh-oh)
While the lyrics seem to be comparing a toxic romance to the devil as opposed to actually declaring her love for Satan, Christian fans are still not pleased.
