Would you imagine our very own police officers stooping too low to fight over a mere loaf of bread?
Two police officers, James Mugo and Peter Gachuru shocked many in Marsabit Town by firing at local residents after confronting a shopkeeper over a 50 shillings loaf of bread.
It is alleged that the shopkeeper sold a stale loaf of bread to one of the officer’s wife and refused to refund her money even after complaining over the bad bread.
The lady decided to report the matter to her police husband who together with his colleague rushed to the shop to harass the shopkeeper.
Angry residents who were watching the drama decided to come to the rescue of the shopkeeper, a move that further angered the unruly cops.
On sensing danger, the officers fired several bullets in the air to scare away the residents who were baying for their blood.
The unruly officers have since been detained at Marsabit Police Station awaiting disciplinary action for their misconduct.
