Naivasha Member of Parliament Jane Kihara has come under fire from a wide section of Kenyans after she profiled a certain community for allegedly not paying rent in Nairobi.
Kihara, who provided no evidence to back her claims, accused the said community of living in people’s houses in Kibera, Mathare, and Naivasha without paying rent from 2017.
She was speaking on Sunday at the Latter Glory Worship Centre in Gachie during a thanksgiving event for Kiambaa MP Njuguna Wanjiku in Kiambu County together with DP William Ruto.
The MP’s sentiments comes as the National Police Service (NPS) revealed the names of 8 suspects arrested over the stoning of DP Ruto Motorcade while on a tour of Busia County.
In his addresses to the church and residents of Gachie, Ruto did not rebuke the lawmaker for her remarks targeting a community, neither did any leader in his UDA party brigade.
Shame on You Jane Kihara. This is UNACCEPTABLE profiling of the Luo nation. Shame shame! pic.twitter.com/x5IQfuDyRL
