Former director of Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora in Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi, on Monday afternoon, claimed that Deputy President William Ruto’s allies were barred from attending the BBI report launch at the Bomas of Kenya.
Taking to social media, Itumbi claimed that an instruction was given out to a woman in charge of communicating to members of parliament to only invite legislators from the Kieleweke team which is associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“An instruction was given to the LADY in charge of communicating to Members of Parliament, to only hand invites to KIELEWEKE and related legislators. Firm instructions by the “all-inclusive” Bomas organizers not to invite Tanga Tanga. No worries,” he wrote.

Deputy Ruto who has previously expressed reservations on the handling of the constitutional review process under the BBI is present at the event and most notably, his allies are missing. Ruto received President Uhuru who arrived at the event at 10:20 am even though he missed the presentation of the report at the Kisii State Lodge on Wednesday, October 21 .
It remains unclear whether the DP will voice his support for the proposed reforms during the Bomas launch.
