Close to a month since it started, the long-running online scuffle between renowned Kenyan econimist Dr. David Ndii and flamboyant city lawyer Donald B Kipkorir doesn’t seem like it will come to an end in the foreseeable future.
To briefly bring up to date those who might have missed their exchanges on Twitter the last few weeks, this “beef” began on on Tuesday, March 31, when Ndii savagely deconstructed Kipkorir’s bizarre advise to the government to print Ksh. 750 billion and inject it into the economy as part of the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the economist’s analogy of why the idea was not feasible, he cast Kipkorir as the president of a fictional nation called Kiplombe, referring to the lawyer as ‘Young Billionaire Sonko Malong’ – a term that soon landed the lawyer in trouble with dreaded online trolls, who thanks to the amount of free time under their hands, made fun of him for up to an entire week.
Ever since then the pair have clashed online on several occasions over their divergent viewpoints on various issues.
On Thursday evening, it took yet another personal turn after Ndii accused Kipkorir of failing to pay rent for space which he allegedly occupies at the Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) offices block located at Koinange Street in Nairobi.
Quoting a post where ODM Communications Director Philip Etale asked netizens to quit bugging Kipkorir with unsolicited opinions on his life, the former National Super Alliance (NASA) Strategist questioned why the lawyer doesn’t pay his bills if indeed he eats off his own sweat like he often loves to claim.

In addition to this damning accusation, Ndii added that Kipkorir has been using his major influence within the corridors of justice to ensure the case drags on for as long as possible.

In 2018, Kipkorir opened up on his long journey to success, narrating how he was brought up in a poor family and some of the tough struggles he went through.
In the story shared on his Facebook page then, he noted that he once worked for Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula in the 90s after which he set up own law firm.

According to the religious advocate, his clients are State corporations, banks, insurance companies, energy companies, universities, high net-worth individuals and ministers.
