As the country prepares for the Mashujaa Day celebrations tomorrow, the Interior CS Fred Matiang’ i has spoken on allegations from DP William Ruto allies who claimed that there were plans to block DP Ruto from attending the Mashujaa day celebrations to be held in Kisii County.
According to the CS, no politician will be denied access to the event that will be presided by the head of state. However, the interior CS further added that the authority will not allow anyone to bring chaos at the event .” It is a great honour to the people of Kisii County that the celebrations can be held here. Let everyone accord the day the respect it deserves. Nobody will be allowed to cause chaos,” said CS Matiangi.
While speaking, the CS stated that he was willing to work with Silvanus Osoro, the Member of Parliament for South Mugirango, adding that the young member of parliament just requires to be guided as he is still developing his leadership skills.
A few days ago, Matiang’ i raised eyebrows in what was seen as a protocol breach when President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at the Manyani Airstrip to chair a cabinet retreat. When the president arrived, he was received by Matiang’i instead of his Deputy Ruto who was present and watched from a distance.
