Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has on Sunday October 24, 2021, admitted that he misses his ex-wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.
The couple announced their break-up in mid-August this year after years of living together.
Speaking exclusively to a local daily, the county chief stated that it was normal for human beings to miss people they have lived with for any given period of time.
He says that it takes much for one not to miss someone they have spent a lot of time with.
“You miss people who come into your life. The people who are in your life, even for a month, two months, or 20 years, leave a part of them in you. It is natural for you to miss them. You have to be the devil incarnate for you not to miss them,” Mutua said.
Asked if he thinks they may reconcile, the county head revealed that he believes in couple reconciliation and would not rule out the possibility of them going back together.
“People go apart and come back together. It’s there in the Bible. It’s God who plans these things. If He says you’ll get back together, you will. Don’t fight His will,” he said.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader however remained cagey about what might have necessitated their split.
He stated that revealing the reasons behind the break-up may be disrespectful to the other party.
He also added that relationships can sometimes end without major issues.
“I’m not going to discuss my relationship, I won’t. It is disrespectful to the other person. It’s funny that people don’t understand that relationships can end without major issues. It’s possible to tell your partner: ‘it’s been nice’, and she says the same too. That’s maturity. Maturity is when you realise that you don’t own anybody,” he said.’
